A special offer can be an incredible way to generate traffic, if it is good enough to create some buzz through email and/or discussion boards. Done correctly, you will have people passing your deal on to their friends, saving you work. You will need to make an extremely good deal, limit the time or quantity offered to create urgency, and pass it on to your contact list to get it started. If the deal is good enough, you'll get customers. If not, well, try, try again.
But how can you make money on something like this? You may not make money the first time around with the customers you gain from this, but what about in the future? Just make sure to get their contact information, and if they liked your original product or service, they will come back to you when you have something that meets their needs again.
