Figuring out how to design your online business

Let the people you email
know what you do

Signature Files

Are you attracting traffic to your site with every email you send out? Why not? Hopefully by now you are putting a link to your site in your signature of every email you send out, both personal and professional. Surely your family and friends will want to know about your site, and it ensures your customers remember your site when you contact them. Have a good description of your site in addition to your link. Just keep the whole thing under six lines of 60 characters or less.

If you run more than one business, why not list them on your signature? Keep to the rule, 60 characters per line or less, 6 lines or less.

You can also talk to other website owners about exchanging email signature lines. You add their URL and information on to your signature, and they do the same for you. This will expose your business to everyone they talk to, who may not have heard of your business otherwise. As always, keep to the 6/60 rule.

Feeling creative? Why not have multiple signature lines ready for use, and use them appropriately. Your customers don't need to see the same signature every time, especially if they've already taken advantage of the offer in your main signature.
